Director of Analytics - AdKnowledge (Kansas City, KS)

Adknowlege’s Director of Analytics will be responsible for improving revenue by managing a team to apply statistical techniques to very large consumer data sets.
  • Team Development: Manage a team of approximately 5 statisticians and 3 engineers including attracting, developing, motivating, and retaining highly talented individuals.
  • Analytics: Gather business requirements from key stakeholders and turn them into actionable analytics projects. Prioritize, set deadlines and mentor a team of statisticians. Create predictive consumer models, analyze traffic patterns and quality and model a large advertiser marketplace.
  • Data Management and Warehousing: Work with very large data sets (10TB+) and architect a distributed data management architecture that can scale to handle rapid growth.
  • Engineering: Manage a team of engineers focused on turning statistical models into production ready deployments. Make key technology decisions and manage vendor relationships. Utilize cloud computing (e.g. AWS) and open source platforms (e.g. Hive, CloudBase) to achieve scalability and efficiency.
  • Project Management: Institute lightweight processes to manage projects and provide visibility to upper management on project status and prioritization.

Additional duties include:
  • Articulate strategic technical objectives (quarterly, annual, long-term), and lead the group to achieve them.
  • Interact with internal and external customers to ensure continuous customer satisfaction, modifying plans and processes when necessary to maintain reliability and performance.
  • All other duties as assigned

CANDIDATE OVERVIEW
The successful candidate will be an analytical, thoughtful and business-minded leader with at least:
  • 3+ years of fundamental people management (hiring, coaching, firing).
  • 3+ years of experience involved in revenue impacting analysis of very large data sets including data mining, statistical tests and/or simulations.
  • Proven experience translating requirements into solutions.
  • Strong familiarity with Linux/UNIX, SQL and R.
  • Background in software engineering strongly preferred with experience developing in Java.
  • Degree in computer science, mathematics or related field.

Informatics Analyst

Detailed Description

Sagence is looking for an experienced consultant to join its Business Analytics Practice. The candidate will have a well-rounded general consulting background with experience in business analytics and business intelligence.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Participate in strategic assessments for clients identifying current business issues and contributing to defining high impact business intelligence solutions with a focus on the quantitative method, modeling and analytical approach.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Marketing/Business Analyst will be responsible for creating descriptive and statistical business models to strategically analyze financial and operational data; Therefore procuring the achievement of business objectives of The National Alliance. The position requires proactively initiating, developing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal associates and recommending action plans to achieve financial/operational efficiencies. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understands client organization's direction, structure, and requirements
  • Analyzes data to determine industry and competitive positioning.
  • Develop reports and dashboards that enable data driven decisions using current BI tools. (Business Objects, SAS).
  • Actively participate in data management and modeling to develop and maintain effective data repositories including data marts and universes.
  • Transforms data and variables for the purpose of further use and analysis
  • Participates in the design of operational systems, business processes, and reports.
  • Assesses project and/or business needs and produces supporting data and reports.
  • Identifies and documents system deficiencies then recommends solutions.
  • Prepares reporting requirements, specifications, and recommendations.
  • Prepares reports that are easily understood with the operational vision.
  • Develop and/or outline strategic action items based on analysis.
  • Provides status and information to Management for evaluation and guidance.

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3-4 years of Business Objects design and development of Reports
  • Firm understanding of Business Objects XI and its most current features, including Crystal Reports.
  • 3+ years designing, developing and interpreting statistical and descriptive analysis/models
  • 3+ years of SQL writing experience; can write complex SQL as warranted by a project
  • Experience gathering requirements and analyzing data
  • Experience building database views and SQL performance tuning as needed
  • Ability to manage workload and work effectively with little supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills - Able to multi task, prioritize and coordinate resources
  • Application development experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated record of translating strategy into measurable outcomes
  • Experience exploring relationships between multiple pieces and sources of data.
  • Experience in identifying the underlying drivers of performance measures.
  • Proven ability in relationship management, interpersonal communication, and self-management.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
